Support NEFM

As a nonprofit organization, our market relies on grants, partnerships, and the individual contributions to support and sustain our work. Whether you’d like to donate, participate in our programs and activities, or become a member or sponsor, we would love to have you as part of our community.

Your Support Makes a Difference

Your support helps the Northeast Farmers Market:

  • Sustain a thriving marketplace for more than 100 small local farms and businesses that employ over 400 individuals and rely on the market as their primary storefront.

  • Connect consumers directly to their food, empowering shoppers to support a local, sustainable, and resilient food economy.

  • Support Power of Produce (PoP), a kids’ program that encourages healthy food choices and introduces children to where their food comes from—helping grow the next generation of healthy eaters. Learn more about PoP.

  • Expand access to healthy, sustainably produced local food through our Market Bucks program, which matches EBT purchases 3:1 (up to $10 per visit).

By donating or sponsoring at any level, you join a community of supporters who are passionate about strengthening our local food system. Thank you for the many ways you support a thriving local food community—whether you shop at the market, connect with local farmers and food makers, donate, sponsor, or share your love of local food with others. Every action creates a ripple effect that helps our community grow.

The Northeast Minneapolis Farmers Market is a 501(c)(4) Non-profit Social Welfare Organization. Donations to the NEFM are not deductible as charitable contributions for Federal income tax purposes. Consult an accounting professional to see if your contribution can be deducted as a marketing expense.

Business Sponsorship

The Northeast Farmers Market is Minneapolis' longest-running community-based farmers market, attracting over 90,000 visitors annually who value fresh food, a healthy community, and a strong local food economy.

Vendor fees cover basic operations, but we rely on sponsors to enhance programming, improve operations, and maintain essential infrastructure. Your support makes it all possible!

Join us in bringing fresh, local food to Northeast Minneapolis—sponsor the market this season and help us pack a year’s worth of food into just 23 Saturday mornings.

Volunteer with NEFM

Market Volunteering: Volunteers are the heart of the Northeast Farmers Market. From early-morning setup and afternoon teardown to zero waste education, cooking demos, and special events, volunteers help make the market welcoming, vibrant, and accessible for our entire community. Whether you can lend a hand once or throughout the season, we’re grateful for your time and support—and we’re excited to have you join us.

Children's Tent: Our weekly Children's Tent activities are educational, market-related, and just plain fun. They are the highlight of the morning for many families and for kids of all ages. We invite you to host a Saturday morning with activities and share information about your organization with the market community.
