Join us this season at the Market! May 31st is Opening Day!

We have dedicated friends and fans of the market that join us every season, and we hope you’ll join us, too! Here’s what some of our visitors had to say:

“I love the Northeast Farmers Market because it has a beautiful array of home-grown produce, foods in season, flower bouquets, other fun things like pastries, note cards, jewelry, and lovely music. Also great spring rolls, as well as plants. Everybody is friendly and the market has a wonderful ambience for shopping on Saturday morning.”

“This is a wonderful, growing market in my neighborhood, sponsored by the awesome Eastside Food Co-op. It’s great to have a farmer’s market in NE Mpls!”

“NE Farmers market may not be as large as some, although you will know every vender by name, never feel rushed or crowded and always have a wonderful selection of veggies, meat and jewelry, soaps, get your eye glasses tuned and purchase really cool styles. Even relax with a massage. Demo’s. Maybe a hand-crafted gift for yourself or loved one? Ask what’s in store for the next week, some venders allow pre-paid orders for pick-up the next week, and it’s fun to hear about what’s growing on the farm. Each week brings surprizes. We think it’s a great place to meet the neighboors. Our family looks forward to our Saturday visit to market for hot coffee, fresh baked goods and to take home our shopping for the week, then a stop to Eastside Coop for the other stuff. There is always a smiling face at the NE Farmers Market! See you there soon- The James Family”

Join the Budding Farmers program in 2014!

Budding Farmers Logo- Final

We’re excited to once again partner with Budding Farmers to offer the “Budding Farmers program” at

the Northeast Minneapolis Farmers Market!

The Budding Farmers program teaches children (Budding Farmers) about the fruits and vegetables that

our farmers grow and sell at the market. It is perfect for Pre-K through Elementary aged children.

For 8 weeks during the season, you will receive take home nutrition information, fun facts, growing

guides, science projects, recipes, creative activities, and more that you pick up at the market each week.

Each week features a new seasonal fruit or vegetable that is found at the market. The program also

includes a “Fun Book” binder where weekly materials can be clipped in and organized and a kids-sized

tote bag (perfect for shopping at the Farmers Market!).

If you miss a week, no need to worry, we’ll hold on to your materials until the next time you come.

Cost is $48 for the season (just $6 a week!).

It’s never too early to teach your kids about healthy seasonal food- through Budding Farmers they will

cook, grow, learn, taste, smell, feel, and get creative with the fruits and vegetables we grow just for you!

You can find more information about the program and sign up at To sign up

simply fill out their Program Sign Up form and select “Northeast Minneapolis Farmers Market”.

A word from our sponsor Language Central!

Language Central
Warm greetings!  This is a special invitation to ask you to consider making a tax-deductible donation Language Central, Inc.  Our non-profit school opened in October 2013, to provide English and Spanish classes to adults.  We also provide Spanish study abroad and tutoring for the children of our adult learners.

Interest in our English classes has been enormous. Our students come from many countries, including Somalia, Ecuador, Iraq, Venezuela, Colombia and Mexico.   The need for English language study in our community is great.

Each 90 minute class costs $20.00 per student.  Most students are not able to pay the full amount so we ask each student to give what they can, even if it is only $1.00.  This is not nearly enough to cover Language Central’s operating expenses. Having just received our 501(c)(3) status, we are now in the process of applying to foundations and expect to see the results of those efforts within six months to a year.

That is why we are making this special request.  We need your help covering operating expenses now.  Will you help us by sponsoring a student?  Here is how your tax-deductible contribution can help:

-Your gift of $20.00 will cover one teaching session for one student

-Your gift of $200.00 will cover ten teaching sessions for one student

-Your gift of $2,000.00 will pay for a full English class of 10 students

-And your gift of $20,000.00 would cover rent and utilities for one year!

Interested?  Thank you!  Here’s what you need to do:

-Donate online at our website:
-Mail a check to Language Central, PO Box 18596, Minneapolis, MN 55418
-Forward this email to individuals, businesses, or other organizations who might be interested in donating or feel free to give us their information.

Finally, we’d love to see you at our Open House on Thursday, December 19 (see attachment).  Hope you can stop by!
Thank you very much for your consideration!  Please let us know if we can provide any further information.
