Well, friends and fans, we did it again! 2014 marked the Northeast Farmers Market’s fifteenth year. We brought hardworking midwestern farmers, local business owners, food trucks, aspiring artists, massage therapists, musicians, chefs, community organizers, families, and foodies together for twenty two amazing Saturday mornings.
And you, dear sponsors, vendors, volunteers, staff and friends of the market have helped make every single one of those markets happen. Without your ongoing support the last pop-up tent would have folded long ago.
Thanks for a great season and we look forward to seeing you next year!

In a celebration of the strength and bounty of the local food movement, the Northeast Minneapolis Farmers Market is excited to announce the third annual Harvest Gala. Proceeds from the event will be used to fund the activities and mission of the Northeast Minneapolis Farmers Market.
The NEFM Harvest Gala features an innovative format that pairs farmers market vendors and local chefs. Chefs and farmers team up to create tasty appetizers using ingredients sourced from the Northeast Farmers Market.
This year, expect eats by Chowgirls Killer Catering, Sen Yai Sen Lek Thai Cuisine, the Modern Café, The Mill Northeast, Red Stag Supperclub and Cranky’s Ice Cream, just to name a few. At the bar, try beers from the Nordeast Brewers Alliance, fine wines, and a specialty cocktail crafted with 2 Gingers Irish whiskey and fresh seasonal juices.
Live entertainment will be provided by Adam Frank on steel drum, Bluegrass music by Cedar and Stone, and bellydancing by Giza Sangria. A silent auction will feature arts, crafts, certificates and services donated by local artisans, restaurants, businesses and individuals. We’re off to a great start with donations from Brasa, Alma, Mendhe Moon bodyart, Eastside Food Co-op, Kowalski’s, Lotus Life, Nancy Hovanes Basketry, Sarah Knoss Fine Art, Language Central, Chowgirls Killerl Catering and Pangea Organics.
Enjoy hula hoop tricks by Twistin Vixens, a hoop troupe from St. Cloud, MN. They perform, teach hooping classes and make their own hoops. All are invited to join them in their hoop dance routine!
We’re also having a “Garden Stroll”! Buy a ticket, take a stroll and the winner picks their prize basket. It’s as easy as picking a winter squash at the farmers market!
Big thank you to Michael Sharp RE/MAX Results for donating wine for this fun event!
Hope to see you all there!

Exciting news! The Northeast Farmers Market was selected to be the recipient of their AUGUST donation program!
In January 2014 they began a monthly initiative to support local community partners and organizations working towards eliminating hunger, increasing food awareness and promoting sustainable agriculture by donating from each tasting menu purchase. Their goal is to increase awareness of the missions, work and activities of these important organizations.
It’s a great way to help the community and eat good food all while supporting your neighborhood farmers market! Stop by in August for a bite and know your purchase is going towards a good cause.
