Exciting news! The Northeast Farmers Market was selected to be the recipient of their AUGUST donation program!
In January 2014 they began a monthly initiative to support local community partners and organizations working towards eliminating hunger, increasing food awareness and promoting sustainable agriculture by donating from each tasting menu purchase. Their goal is to increase awareness of the missions, work and activities of these important organizations.
It’s a great way to help the community and eat good food all while supporting your neighborhood farmers market! Stop by in August for a bite and know your purchase is going towards a good cause.
No one can resist the barbecue aromas of roasted sweet corn and grilled brats. This gathering honors the peak of summer and the community spirit of the Northeast Market. With farm fresh sweet corn from eQuality Farms and Kramarczuk’s bratwurst and buns, the Corn and Brat Feed is a classic summertime fundraiser.
Menu to look forward to:
Kramarczuk’s Brat – $6
eQuality Sweet Corn – $2
Red Stag Lemonade – $2
Red Stag Iced Tea – $2
Liz Wielinski and her crew will be volunteering for this fun event! Chowgirls will be providing delicious herbed butter for your corn!
Spend your break with organic farmer, environmental advocate, and award-winning writer Atina Diffley. From 11:00-11:30am, Atina will read from her award-winning memoir, Turn Here Sweet Corn, talk about her grassroots legal battles with Koch Industries, share stories and sign copies of her book. Sponsor Friends of the Northeast Library (your friendly Farmers’ Market bookshop).
